Brought up by a Swedish father and English mother, Kris Nilsson built his first boat, a Caledonian Yawl when he was 18 years old. The experience sparked his passion for woodworking and, perhaps partly inspired by his Viking heritage he went on to study International Boat Building in Lowestoft. Applying the same attention-to-detail and craftsmanship required for boat building, to making bespoke furniture, Kris Nilsson creates harmonious and elegant furniture pieces using a wide range of timber species; keeping the finish as natural as possible, emphasising the woods natural beauty.
An experienced carpenter with over a decade of carpentry experience across a range of project types including bespoke furniture making, and structural developments and alterations. Kris Nilsson specialises in using contemporary and traditional woodworking techniques; celebrating craftsmanship, good design and quality of materials.
